Bottle. Pinkish red color. Stony aroma with ash, ’zuurstokken’ and cherry sweets. Dryish, a bit sour flavor with stones, mint and hints of metal. Ash, almost like kissing a girl that smokes heavily and uses cherry lipstick. Strange beer, but in a way well made.

Top-fermented cherry beer based on Boerke Bruin, with genuine Schaarbeek griottes, the all but gone variety with which lambic-based krieks were once made, a rarity nowadays. This beer has a ’dirty’ pinkish head and deep wine-red colour, cloudy, lots of real sour cherries and some cherry stone in the nose along with malty, yeasty and citrussy accents, soft but big fruitiness of obvious real fruit with sourish freshness, mellow malt base and bitterish hops in the finish. One of those old-school Belgian fruit ales, honest, not overtly sweet and for once NOT based on witbier.

Bottle at Fiere Margriet. Dark cherry brown with a fine, low head. Nose of sweet black cherries, some cream, caramel. Sweet and rich, lots of cherry. Creamy, vanilla, interesting. Very rich and thick.

Cloudy tangerine - amber beer. Decent pinkish head which is quite noisy! Sounds like a bowl of Rice Krispies! Minerally nose with a touch of fruit. Crisp palate, fairly dry. Lightly tart with a nice touch of sweet and sour cherry. Light malt to offset. Finishes crisp and dry. Hint of marzipan. Nicely balanced beer. Just the right side of being too sour.

330ml Bottle - Red in colour. Sharp and musty aroma with an abundance of fruity cherry notes. Sweet and slightly medicinal cherry taste, with a slightly tart element. Not bad and fairly drinkable.
