Puls Dark Lager is a traditional dark lager. Dark brown in colour, malty with hints of caramel and breadiness. Moderate bitterness and hop flavour are not dominating and are well balanced with slight sweet notes in aftertaste. Nice creamy foam top at the serving.

(Bottle. Thanks to SaintMatty) Mahogany colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with notes of dark bread, caramel, wort and dried fruit. Malty, slightly roasted taste with dried fruit, prunes, caramel and spicy hints of nutmeg. Medium body, rather sweet, with low bitterness. Despite the sweet, syrupy malt and lack of hops it’s still quite clean and enjoyable.

500 ml bottle, shared with Stefan in Tallinn 21.oct.09. Mahogany coloured body with white head that disappears quickly and leaves no lacing. (This might be due to the toothglass I used for sampling). Sweet malty aroma, with a whiff of yeast. Surprisingly tame. In combination the flavour of overripe plums and flat carbonation are not really fortunate as it tastes too much like juice. The finish has a hint of bitterness to it, as of plum-peel. The beer is not really offending, though. It is just a bit too sweet and uninteresting.

Medium coarseish offwhite head doesn’t last. Dark brown translucent body. Yeasty sulphury caramel aroma with roasty notes. Dry-sweetish papery grainy caramelly taste with sugary burnt notes. Mid-bodied. Sweetish-dry caramelly yeasty aftertaste. Not bad. (0.5l bottle from some Tallinn grocery store.)

500ml Bottle-Dark brown in colour with red tinges and a small head. Malty, chocolatey aroma which is quite inviting. Malty, slightly sour taste with chocolate and dried fruits with a bit of caramel. Slightly tangy. Not bad but they could do better.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear dark brown, average head. Sweet and caramelly. Light notes of cellar, otherwise highly reminiscent of the sweeter dark Czech beers, with it’s light roastiness and severe sweetness. Soft and without bitterness. Reasonably well executed.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Dark amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. A little too sweet but ok flavor. Watery palate too the good side. A beer to go for in estonia because it has its one caracter.

Bottled. Dark copper coloured, with beige mediumsized head. Aroma is mild roast mixed with some metal and malts. Flavour of berries and caramel, with weak hints of roasted malts. Watery palate with biting carbonation. Nothing special.

[Bottled]. Dark ruby color, small off-white head. Metalic, a bit roasted and caramelly aroma, also same diacetyl notes than in HF Pils. Sweetish berry-like flavor, hard carbonation, caramelly finish with metallic roasted notes. Harsh bitter aftertaste.
