Thanks B and A! Very nice beer kind of traditional which is a pleasant surprise. Aromas and flavors are dark malt, roast with a little bit of cocoa and dry grain. Nice balance between Sweet, Bitter and carbonation with a slightly chewy body. Finish is bittersweet and very drinkable. Easy drinking beer.

Draft at Iowa Taproom, De Monies. 3-16-2016, from notes. Pitch black, no head. Aroma dark chocolate malts, roast and earthy oak. Mild coffee tones.
Flavor is really bold for a standard porter! The dark roasted grain gives off thick chocolate, mild coffee, and a mild earthy wood flavor. Tastes like it was aged in oak. (Although I know it wasn’t) Deep rich grain body that leads me to think it was a heartier stout. Great fuller mouthfeel. I’m shocked this is under 7 % ABV. Very finely crafted.

Sampled from the tap at El Bait Shop. Pours near black with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dark grains with light roasted malts and a hint of dark fruits and coffee. Flavor has dark grains with some bitter roasted malts and a bit of dark fruits.
