Pours thick, very dark brown, with a creamy, tan head. Aroma has dark sugar, dried fruit and licorice. Flavour has more licorice, raisins. Sweetness and bitterness well balanced. Finish is sticky and bitter with light alcohol burn.

Keg at the City Pub, Goteborg, 21/03/14. Light black with a good sized tan covering that retains well. Nose is roast malt, toffee fudge, chocolate, light spice, dark malt, liqourice. Taste comprises much the same with a trace of booze flowing through it. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Ok impy but lacks a little depth.

Tap at the City Pub, Gothenburg. Poured a dark mahogany with a thin tan head. The aroma is creamy caramel roasted malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a slightly watery hop malt coffee peaty palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice and chewy with lots of flavour.

Aroma is fairly malty, full of roast and dark chocolate. Light licorice with moderate raisin and light prune and plum. Surprisingly sweet chocolate notes as the beer warms. Pours black as an atheist’s soul with a small dark mocha head that recedes quickly to the edges with a faint film in the middle. Very faint lacing with medium legs. Flavor starts instantly sweet, but that quickly recedes. Light roast with moderate chocolate of varying degrees of darkness. Moderate raisin with lighter prune and anise. Medium bitterness helps cut through the sweetness. Some astringency. Mouthfeel is fairly full bodied with medium low carbonation. Medium low, but noticeable astringency. Medium low alcohol warmth. Fairly sticky sweet. Overall an acceptable beer that hasn’t been hurt from the 2 years it spent buried in my cellar. Nicely balanced malt character with decent fruit and anise. Astringency is a touch too strong. A bit too sticky for my preferences.
