Sometimes the deepest thought emanates from being around those things that just simply are. They need no introduction, no fancy nomenclatures. They are an invitation to go beyond that which persists within view. A righteous gift of introspection. A dark lager inspired by Northern brewing traditions, using German barley and hopped mildly with Bohemian hops.

Can from Tavour: pours mahogany with a beige head. Aroma is cocoa, toasted malts, light hoppiness. Taste is sweetish, lightly bitter. Body is slightly creamy. Quite good.

Not bad, although it skews sweet, with notes of toasted nuts, caramel, date, and apple against a modest floral bitterness. Pretty good pint.

Can from Tavour. Pours very dark brown with a creamy tan head that left rapidly. Aroma is that dark Tmavy thing with some grass/spice notes. Med body. Malty but not sweet. Bitter enough for balance. Flavor is the dark malt with hints of darker fruit and grass/spice. Good flavor.

I wondered if this would be listed as a dunkel. It is, but it also shares quite a bit stylistically with schwarzbier. Not that it matters, just a note. And on that note, wow what a nice thing to find instead of yet another IPA etc. Pours a dark brown, almost dark enough to be opaque unless you hold it at the light where it shows a nice brown color around the edges. Modest head. Aroma was restrained but was mostly a hint of dark chocolate, toasted malt. Flavor similar but also seemed to hint at coffee notes. Light bodied enough to be drinkable, pleasing. Clean profile, balanced finish. A really excellent dark lager. Can from Upsala market, Sanford FL

Really a very nice dark lager. Aromas are toasty cocoa malt. Flavors are like nose a little more sweet with just the right amount of carbonation and bitter to balance and keep character. Great body and outstanding finish.wouldn't mind drinking more of these and you could go crazy cooking with them.
