Dark blood-red purple with a foaming light purple head. Distinct cassis aroma with that unusual mix of berries, strawberry vines, dandelions and soap. Super sweet and berryish, but with almost enough acidity to cut through. Interesting mouthfeel, slick and candyish, but with a long sour twang that is vaguely tangible.

A deep red beer with a cherry colored head. The aroma is powerfully of black currant - almost like drinking concentrated black currant juice combined with a very faint note of acicity. The flavor is acidic with a powerful note of black currant, the acidity prickles lightly on the tongue and the palate. Like a black currant juice beer, lovely if You like black currants.

Taster from bottle, at the Balmoral Brewhaha. Looks like currants are about the heaviest fruit flavor you can put into a beer. Big currant flavor and nose here, folks, that can’t help but overwhelm any beer base, but I guess that’s expected. Very sweet, too; I couldn’t locate much tartness. Kind of runs toward the flavor of those IHOP pancake syrups. If you know that going in and looking for it, this would be fine.

Schmecken tuts schon irgendwie. Test vom 14.11.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,10,8,8,14,8 - 8,70
