Bottle. A beautiful-looking beer - deep ruby-colored with a pink to light-red head. Aroma of sweet berries. A sweet flavor, somewhat sugary, with berries and a nice acidic tone that’s getting stronger towards the finish. Medium-bodied. Like the other St. Louis fruit "Lambics" this is rather sweet and doesn’t have almost any Lambic character, but I find it to be a pleasant fruit beer.

"Where the Wild Beers Are" 2008. Unusual purple color. Sweet fruit and cassis flavor. Not bad at all for a dessert beer. Lots of sugar.

0.25L bottle, thick stable pinkish red head, that looks like candyfloss, clear extremely dark red colour, rich aroma of cassis. Taste dominated by powefull sourness with the cassis fruit in the back and just a touch of bitterness. Long sour aftertaste with just a touch of dryness creeping up your throat. One of the best fruit lambics i have had so far.

Bottle 25cl @ Home.Clear dark red color with a average to large, frothy, good lancing, mostly lasting, red head. Aroma is moderate black currant. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light acidic with a average duration. It is a syntetich berry alike. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (070608)

bottle 25cl Pours dark reddish with a light dark pink head. Aroma filled with berries (cassis) and malt. Taste is similar to the other St Louis beers, malty and berries with again this sour presence that just doesnt really do it for me. Drinkable, refreshing.

25 cL bottle. Pours deep dark red with a huge solid purple and creamy head. Blackberry aroma from the distance. Sweet and acidic and solid blackberry as it should be. Flavour is citric and of blackberries. Mainly like a juice than a fruitbeer. Citric and sweet at once. Lingering blackberry flavour into the far finish.

Very intense flamingo-red head, quite persistent, over nearly black purple beer. Fruity nose, cassis (that’s blackcurrant to you lot), for a short while, but then more currant leaf, parsley and pelargonium leaf. Not sweet smelling, however. Surprisingly neutral flavour first, fruity, even slightly tart, acidity even persisting! Not overly blackcurrant typed, however. Slight astringency, fruit-filled body, well- to overcarbonated. Surprised? Well, not me, not really anyway. Most important thing is, this is meant to be served chilled, frappée. Serve it "chambrée", don’t come complaining here. Whatever, cassis, OK, lambic it isn’t. Now I’ll hold my horses, because I’m starting to sound like Jeremy Clarkson, if slightly less witty. --- Beer merged from original tick of St. Louis Cassis on 04 Aug 2004 at 09:28 - Score: Appearance - 10 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 10 | Overall - 8. Original review text: Dense, cyclamen-red head, slightly irregular on deep garnet beer. Sweet expressly fruitnose, unmistakably blackcurrant, jam-like, but not artificial smelling (apart from a bit of gas-like aroma). Surprisingly tart, fruit-acid taste, blackcurrant & blueberry. No horseblanket, but background of lactobacillus-like esters and acids. Nice. Light to medium bodied, very refreshing; long tart aftertaste, dry-out effect. This IS a major surprise. It has nothing to do with lambic, but then neither has Bitter End Sour Prick. This one is really a good one to wean the young and unthoughtful from the breezers.

Looks like grape soda with a lavender colored head. Aroma is weird minty grape. Flavor is sweet grape with some tartness. Medium body with average carbonation and a dry finish. Not one of my favorites. I won’t be having this again.

375 ml green bottle. Purchased from Rick’s Gourmet - out of date 8/2007. Pours a dark purple color. Head is a small, but lasting pinkish hue. Aroma is sour blackberries and oranges, not extremely pleasant to me. Flavor was much better. Flavor is sour blackberries, with notes of grape and just overall tartness.
