Brewery tap. Dark brown color. Light caramelaroma. Rather dry, earthy hoppy flavor with licorice and laurel. Roasted malt. Long licorice and roast aftertaste. Liked it better as the bocks in 2005 and 2006. Unconventional, but well brewed Dutch bock. 75 cl corked bottle, 6,2%. Malt, licorice and cardemom in the aroma. malty sweetish flavor with pepper, licorice and cardemom. Hint of chocolate in the aftertaste. Well balanced beer, way off the beaten track for bocks.

It pours a beautiful dark mahogany color, with medium sized head, creamy and persistent. Very nice aroma of caramelly malt, with a light tone of roasted malt. The mouthfeel is quite smooth; the malt and caramel flavor very good, with some chocolate and light cereals; there is as expected some oxidisation; correct bitterness, with a nutty touch in the final. Very good.

33 cL bottle, courtesy of Papsoe/jbrus. Pours hazy deep orange with a gone head. Dense malty and roasted aroma with a wineous note. Nice liqourice and roasted malty flavoured with a mild bitterness just coming through. Extremely smooth and tasty on the malt flavours and nice counterbalanced with hops. Nice and smooth roasted finish with more than just plain roasted malt - light spiced.

Bottled (THT 12/11/2008). Hazy nut brown color, brown head. Chocolaty, roasted aroma. Toasted malty, grassy, chocolaty, extremely balanced. Maybe a bit too yeasty, but a good beer.

Bottled. A deep red beer with an orangey head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of caramel, pumpernickel bread, and alcohol. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of pumpernickle bread and caramel, as well as medium notes of alcohol. The finish is dry with a touch of spices. The alcohol tickles the tongue.

Amber colour. Aroma has caramel and hops. Flavour is of caramel, some roasted malts and some herbs. Enjoyable. Rerate: roasted malts in the aroma, and bitter long-lasting flavours of coffee and chocolate. Very enjoyable!
