Bottle at the brewery. Attractive reddy amber, brown. Thin off white head. Bit of alcohol sweetness on aroma, bit syrupy and sickly brown beer.

Gushing to huge dark-cream head over hazy brown-amber beer, with mossy shine and UFO’s aplenty. Sourish, fruity, yeasty esters nose. Quite vinous, hyped up by the probably hefty alcoholcontent. Sour-sweet taste, fruity, very yeasty, including meaty esters. Alcohol & fusels, lots of lactic acid, human sweat, stale alcoholcake with raisins. Quite well-bodied, despite the alcohol and the acids. It’s still lightly infected, just as Den Twaalf used to be. Needs long cellarlagering, IMHO.

15/VIII/08 - 33cl bottle @ Internationaal Streekbierenfestival 2008 (Zwevegem) - BB: n/a
Warning: early amateur rating from brief notes that I found when cleaning out the home office.
Nasty smell. One of the only beers of that day with a rating lower than 5/10.
