オーツ麦をふんだんに使った、穀物感たっぷりのブラウンエールに神山町で無農薬で栽培されたブルーベリーを漬け込みました。
モルト由来のキャラメルやシリアルのような味わいに、ブルーベリーの自然で爽やかな風味が合わさり、手つくりのクッキーのようなどこか優しさのあるビールになりました。
オーツ麦とブルーベリーをたっぷりと使ったブラウンエールができました。
"Sukittu"のすだちでもお世話になった、徳島県の神山町で無農薬で栽培されたブルーベリーを使っています。
今年は大豊作だったようで、取れすぎて困った！という連絡をいただき分けていただくことに。
ビールとの相性も良いブルーベリーですが、肌寒いこの時期なので軽めでさっぱりとしたビールより、味わい深い方がいいだろうと思い穀物感たっぷりのブラウンエールに合わせてみました。
シリアル感xブルーベリーというと、頭の中に真っ先にエナジーバーが浮かびます。
山の行動色の大定番ですが、C○iff Barや、一本○足バーなど、ベリーテイストなラインナップもありその穏やかな酸味とシリアルの食感が疲れた体を癒してくれとても好きな味わいです。
またオートミールといえば欧米圏の朝ご飯の定番。ここでもベリー系は登場率が高いですよね。
元を辿るとマミーが作る手つくり感たっぷりのクッキーに源流があるのかな、なんて想像しています。
僕らのお袋の味とは程遠いですが、異国文化への憧れも込めて、擬似的にお袋の味を脳内でイメージしながらレシピを考えました。
キャラメル感のある麦芽を数種類組みわせ、オーツ麦もたっぷりと加えることでややトロッとした質感も楽しめます。ベリーは少し潰してから発酵初期にタンクに直接漬け込んでいます。
当然、オールナチュラル（クラフトビールなのにこれを言わなきゃいけない時代）仕上げで、それぞれの原料の味わいをきちんと感じられるような自然な仕上がりになりました。
時に朝ご飯、時に行動食、時にお袋の味。

Nice. Slightest touch of berry fruitiness. But the brown ale aspect is quite sweet so I guess the blueberries are doing something there. Good stuff

Passific Brewing Chewy Gooey 6% Oatmeal Brown Ale with Blueberry On tap at Bungalow. It’s a murky brown pour it’s a creamy tan head and sweet brown sugar biscuit aroma. Oatmeal raisin bran cereal, anyone? Quite full bodied with a somewhat velvety smooth mouthfeel. The taste reminds me of a creamy rya ale. It’s got some peppery notes with raisins/blueberries popping up in the finish. Reminds me of a creamy smooth brown Porter with English mild malt elements that at times evoke tobacco and rye. Really interesting and tasty of this grey winter day, I’m glad I ordered it.

Tap at Bungalow. An oatmeal brown ale with blueberry. Nose is dark chocolate, caramel, light coffee, and just a touch of blueberry. Dasrk brown and hazy. Dry, slightly roasty, toasty, nutty, dark chocolate flavor, with a little more tart blueberry. Bitter finish. Decent.
