Draft pours deep black with thick tan head that reduces to a thin blanket of lace. Rich mouthfeel with a malty taste that is not sweet. Dry finish with lingering flavors of yeast and nuts. Tasted at Nante-Eck, Berlin, Germany.

Old rating from 15-06-16 - Picked up in Berlin on my trip last New Year. Pours a clear black colour with a white foamy head. Aromas of toasted nut, caramel & roasted malt. Aromas of roasted wheat, toast, toasted nuts and caramel. Medium/light body and medium/low carbonation. Aftertaste is of a mild sweet roasted bitter finish.

On tap. Color coca-cola. Espuma blanca duradera. Caramelo marcado. Con amargo herbal. Mantiene en boca. Muy ligera y suave al paladar. Pero cansina.

0.5 l bottle from 'ProBierShop.com', best before June 2022. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a large, foamy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of raisins, caramel and nuts. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, quite roasty and a little fruity taste of cocoa, coffee, toasted nuts, some caramel and traces of raisins, followed by a short, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy, moderately dry finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid Schwarzbier, well-balanced and nicely roasty.
