First beer of the Germany trip, 33 cl bottle courtesy of steptin, thank you sir! Purple color, brown head, a beautiful beer. Aroma of chocolate covered caramel candy, Taste is chocolate, brandy, prunes, vanilla. Nice combination. Nice medium body, not overpowering and stout-like, as so many American porters tend to be.

Bottle. I looks quite nice in the glass, with a nice, reddish dark brown body and a fine beige head. Some lacings too. Coffee, some smoked eat, roasted malts and some dried fruits in the aroma. The flavor is sweet, roasted and with some hops. A little coffee hint too. Fine bitterness. Medium to full body, with a nice carbonation level. It feels dry, even though there’s some sticky feelings. Pleasant bitterness in the end, along with some roasted malts. A fine German-style porter, but a bit on the sweet side. (090228)

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear, dark brown with an orange hue and a dense, beige head. Hard roasted malt aroma. Quite full-bodied, hard roasted malts and a little vanilla. Some malt bitterness. A surprisingly decent German take on a Porter. 141208
