Økologisk Thy Classic er en såkaldt Wiener øl. En lidt mørkere lagerøl med en rund og fyldig smag af frugt, karamel og ristet malt. En dejlig øl både til frokost og til varm mad.

(33cl bottle, as Elmegaard Bryg Classic, courtesy of Papsoe) Clear, amber colour with a mid-sized, slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly sweet and toasted malty nose with a whiff of caramel and light acidic notes. Light-sweet flavour, minimal-toasty malty taste, faint notes of caramel;sorish malty finish with traces of bitter hops.

(Draught at Charlie’s, Copenhagen, 4 Aug 2007) Dark amber colur with frothy beige head. Malty nose with notes of dark fruit, prunes and raisins. Malty taste with dark rye bread, dark fruit and a dry bitterness in the finish. Very good balance. I didn’t have high expectations, but this one was surprisingly good.

33 cL bottle. Pours brown with a hue crispy and quickly disappearin slight off-white head. Malty, slight mouldy and an off note I cannot describe. Very carbonated mouthfeel. Slight caramel malty with bitterness in the finish. Sadly the heavy carbonation takes completely over here.

Bottled. Pours clear, copper-colored, with an off-white head. It has a weak but quite pleasant aroma with malt and some roastiness, but lacks hop-balance. The flavor has malt, some grain and weak, roasted notes. Medium body and a grainy finish. A quite ordinary lager, but a tad better than the regular pale lager. (070106)
