  Stout - Dry Regular
Score

ABV: 8.0% IBU: 45 Ticks: 37
Pours black and is an amped-up version of a traditional dry stout. The addition of both roasted barley and dark crystal malted barley give Extra Stout undertones of chocolate, molasses and dried fruit.

Bottle. Has all the characteristics of a foreign stout — malty, sweet, and less fruity and hoppy than an imperial stout. Dark brown body with a finger-size tan head that diminishes. The light aroma is sweet with vanilla, cocoa and a hint of coffee. Slight roast notes. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. The finish turns moderately bitter, roasty and is lasting. Turns dry. Medium body with a milk-like texture and soft carbonation. Well made.

Bottle. Nice bonus from xmarcnolanx. Thanks! Pours a dark brown w/ no head. Aroma of coffee, whisky. Sweet taste. Maybe a little too sweet. Creamy, medium body. UPDATE: This turned into a drain pour by the end. Way too sweet.

Bottle from sliffy. Deep red-brown body, medium cream head. Translucent. Roasted malt aroma with hints of licorice. Chocolately roast body, balanced by bitter, earthy hops. Somewhat woody finish. Oily palate, medium-bodied, with a fairly strong bitter, hoppy finish.

sample from bottle at DLD - Pours dark brown with a fluffy enduring head. It has a good roast malt aroma and flavor, a medium to full body, light carbonation, and a mildly bitter finish. Pretty good stout. rerate - bottle - Very dark brown, small tan head. Roast malt and coffee aroma. Flavor has dark roast malt, coffee, and some licorice notes. Well balanced and tasty.

Bottle. Body is dark brown, almost black with a half inch tan head. Aromas are somewhat weak and don’t do a great job advertising what is to come, but suggest a burnt malt with a sweet character. Maybe a touch of chocolate and molasses, too, but that could just be some interference from the flavoring. Mouthfeel is creamy and a somewhat thick, flavor has dark chocolate, molasses and a creamy finish. There are some smokey/peat notes, too, but they are subtle and don’t take over the show. Overall, the main interest here is the creamy flavoring and mouthfeel, which makes this a stout unlike any others that I have tried. While the flavoring and development could be slightly improved on, the way in which this blends an 8% ABV into a silky and smooth package is remarkable. It is a very different from other imperial stouts that I’ve tried due to its well-concealed alcohol and smooth finish.

Bottle from BeerDrenched; Nose is roasty, sweet, and choclatety clear dark brown with a medium rusty head; flavor is choclatety, with some roasty coffee notes added; good but not very complex.

Pour is black with a small tan head. Aroma is very much caramel and chocolate malts. Flavor is roasty with some wood smoke and dark chocolate. Finish is bitter but not enough to take away the flavor. Alcohol is no prob as there is a touch as you swallow but nothing over the top. Not the best Impy stout by far but still kinda tasty and comes in a six pack of bottles.
