Beer Beer American Pilsner

Lemon, biscuit malt, and grass/fresh hay aroma. Golden yellow with large off-white head. Minimally sweet lemon, biscuit malt, and mildly bitter grass/fresh hay flavor. Good body.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear dull gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has lots of straw with a decent amount of hay and a bit of bread supporting. Flavor has lightly sweet grain with growing straw and hay in the finish.

Not sure what this beer is supposed to be. “Beer Beer” doesn’t taste like a normal American lager, or a Euro pils, or any other recognizable style, really. Surprising yeasty tartness is offset by notes of wet grain and flowers, with an undertone of green-bottle-beer skunkiness and hints of grapefruit and passion fruit. Finishes with a lingering floral bitterness and more yeast. Muddled and messy.
