This stout has been in barrels for a total of 27 months. An Imperial Rye stout aged in barrels not once but twice.
First, the beer spent 14 months in Laphroaig barrels. George Dickel barrels then spent 13 months giving it a very special soft character.

Draught@TCBW2023. Black colour with a small beige head. Aroma is roasted, some smoky and wooden tones with a bit of bourbon sweetness to it. Flavour is roasted, smokey, wooden and some mild alcohol sweetness with a bit of chocolate as well. Sweet. Burning on the gums, but otherwise hides the alcohol quite well.

330ml can. Pours pitch black with a medium head. Aroma is mi ty bourbon, dark chocolate and a little peat. Taste has minty bourbon and dark chocolate with some sweet peat on the finish.

Can thanks to cgarvieuk. Appearance - deep brown to black. No head. Nose - booze, stewed fruit and charred wood. Only a hint of peaty smoke. Taste - burnt wood, a bit more peat, stewed fruit and spice. Palate - medium bodied, sweet and smoky (wood not peat) middle and finish. Overall - quite nice.

Can thanks to cgarvieuk. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of whisky, chocolate liqueurs, wood and raisins. Taste adds vanilla, booze, iodine, dark chocolate. Thin finish.

33cl can from Etre Gourmet web shop. F: medium, tanned, good retention. C: dark, opaque. A: rich dark malts, peat tones, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, apples, dark dried fruits, woody, bourbon, vanilla. T: full malty base, woody, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, peat, apples, bourbon, nice balanced bitterness yet bit weak (45 IBU) for such strong beer, soft carbonation, light oily mouthfeel, good one, enjoyed.

33cl Blik. Zwarte kleur, beige kraag. Veel bourbon, vrij zoet, vanille, eikenhout, heel licht rokerig, sherry, licht kruidig, wat caramel, melkchocolade. Mist body, stroperigheid, invloed van het Islay-vat is minimaal.. Degelijk, maar toch ook een tegenvaller.

Black colour, brown foam. Roasty, malty, lots of green apple, sweet bourbon and light peated notes. Not very well balanced.
