Pours black with a small fading tan head.Nose shows roasted malt, caramel and faint smoke. Pretty nice, quite sweet smelling.Flavours are along the same lines: roasted malt, soft coffee and a little sweet caramel.Could do with more carbonation.

33cl bottle @ Timo A, BBE APR11
Aroma has roasted malt and some coffee. Palate has just right amount of CO2. Taste contains roasted malt and coffee and has also a bit of sweetish chocolate. Good schwartz.

From a 330ml bottle on 26/6/2011. Pours a very dark amber with a good head. Has a moderate aroma of caramel and biscuity malt. Taste wise, it’s relatively sweet, with chocolate notes dominating, followed by a decent amount of roasty bitterness. This is a solid, well made dark beer.

33cl bottle. A beautiful opaque black colour with a generous head. There is a hint of a red hue if it is held against the light. The nose has a faint hint of chocolate but the creaminess is more forward. The taste has bitter black chocolate which is washed over by a creamy middle section and then the bitter chocolate comes through again on the finish. The palate has at least medium structure, a creamy texture and an elegant finish. For me, this is a lovely beer.

Bottled 330ml (Utobeer, BB 04/2011)
Dark ruby-brown color, good creamy brown head, lace. A bit ashy, coffeish and dark caramelly nose. Medium-bodied. Front is caramelly with toasted maltyness. Some hoppyness in the aftertaste as well as coal. Quite stylish Schwarzbier.

Bottle: Very dark amber - but not black - coloured; stable off-white foamy layer with a monor lacework; dryish roasty-caramelly nose with a metallic and a peaty tinge; moderate dryish bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, a bit sticky; bitter toasty finish, rounded by a caramelly touch. Not bad, but all in all a mediocre brew.....
