Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Rubyish brown colour, mediumsized off-white head that leaves some lace. Aroma is malty, some roasted malts, mild toffeeish notes as well as some ashes and mild dark dry fruity notes. Flavour is roasted malts, some ashes, mild chocolate, raisins and a quite bitter finish.

Bottle: Poured a light black color beer with a medium foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt with light lactic sugar notes is quite enjoyable. Taste is also a well balanced mix between some roasted malt and light sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nothing earth shattering but well brewed and enjoyable.

Bottle. Black with a medium beige head. Aroma has toast, plums, sourish coffee, grass. Quite a lot of coffee in the taste, as well as some coffee astringency. Caramel and some burnt malt are just underneath. Modest spicy bitter finish. A little thin, but very drinkable and pretty tasty.

Bottle from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Pours very dark brown with ruby glints and a 3 finger foamy ringy clingy beige head. Mild burnt malt aroma with something like grassy hop. Medium body with lightly foamy carbonation. Flavor is smooth burnt malt with a floral hop aspect, backed by a murky chocolate flavor. Which is pleasant. Aroma begins to seem mildly floral. It’s quite tasty and very drinkable.

Poured from 11.2 oz bottle. This tastes more like an Oatmeal Stout than a Schwarzbier. Aroma is of chocolate and a soft malt. Appearance is just like an Oatmeal Stout, very creamy and pure black. Taste is creamy with chocolate notes. It’s good, just not what I expected.

Very dark brown. The aroma is raisiny, slightly tarry, burnt with dark fruits and background earthy/toffeeness. This is somebody’s interpretation of an old ale. Chrewy, sweet but quite earthy and tarry. Light raisin and molasses. Fairly light body - dangerously drinkable with its smooth dark flavours.
