24 May 2023. At Hal 16 (Dok Brewing). Cheers to the Teamleader crew!

A: hazy yellow, small, foamy, white head.
A: unripe peach, white pepper, lime, shallot, pine.
T: sweetish unripe peach, tangerine, white pepper, bread crust.
F: floral hops, soft spicy & dank onion, unripe tropical fruit & citrus pith.
P: medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
Not really 'NE', more of a hazy American IPA, and again accessible at that. Good stuff.

Hazy ‘session’ IPA by Dok, firmly hopped with 50 IBU (Nelson Sauvin, Cascade cryo hop and Lemondrop); the name is a play – as is the case most of the time with Dok – and combines the word ‘hazy’ with the Western Flemish pronunciation of ‘gij zijt’ (= ‘you are’), in that sense the beer name meaning “you are my friend”. Snow white, medium thick, stable head lacing in shreds over a hazy golden blonde beer with apricot tinge. Aroma of toasted onion, wormwood, grapefruit peel, olive oil, jute rope, bitter garden weeds, bread crust, grass. Clean, dryish onset, some green banana and unripe pear, fizzy carbonation with minerally effects, sleek and rounded; cereally, slightly toasty malt bitterishness dried by a long, rooty, leafy hop bitterness combining retronasal grapefruit peel and white pepper with impressions of wormwood and tonic water. Nothing really astonishing here, just another solid Dok IPA, indeed very sessionable, dry and quenching and, as promised by its makers, not the umpteenth fruit juice NEIPA-like beer but a more oldskool, noticeably West Coast-influenced example.
