Our original brewery in Toronto’s historic Distillery District, known as “Tankhouse #3” was built in 1879 as a storage building for bulk spirits waiting to be filled into barrels. It was in this building in 2003 that our Tankhouse Ale was born. Now made with all organic ingredients, we use an abundance of organic hops and five different organic malts to produce a rich, fiery pale ale, copper-red in colour, and truly satisfying in flavour.

Bottle at home ... Thanks to Canadian Dan and his pall for this... Sharp malt fruits with a citrus tang to the nose ... hightly hop fruit for sucg a dark beer ... tad over fizzy ... Lots of juicy hop resins with a little drying graprefruit bitterness... Could do with some more malt character for my palate nonetheless a remarkably drinkable ale.

Bottled at RBESG ’07. Amber coloured. Pleasant hoppy aroma of grapefruit. Crisp, bready and light bodied, freshly hoppy and really enjoyable. Finishes with medium bitterness.

Bottle Clear, amber body. Off-white, large, lasting, creamy head. Intense aroma of hops with some liquor added. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter initial flavour. Heavily bitter, lightly sweet finish. Quite interesting, but has a little bit flawness. Still quite complex. Very soft mouthfeel.

Brown bottle, 355 ml; eye: copper with golden reflections, nice beige head made up of small and compact bubbles, light effervescence, clear, lacing; nose: nice caramelized malt, floral hops, roasting, chocolate, citrusy, spices; mouth: starts nicely with its bitterness, followed by roasting, a bit of spices, finale is also bitter but with a touch, that becomes more and more aggressive as it warms, of acrid toasting at the very end, lightly sweet, mildly bitter, medium body, nice carbonation; overall: better than I expected but its acridness as it warms is a negative FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 355 ml; oeil : cuivrée avec des reflets dorés, belle mousse beige formée de petites bulles compactes, légère effervescence, claire, dentelle; nez : beau nez de malt caramélisé, houblon floral, torréfaction, chocolat, citrique, épices; bouche : beau début tout en amertume, suivi de torréfaction, un peu d’épices, finale aussi en amertume mais avec une touche de torréfaction âcre complètemetn à la fin, mais qui devient de plus en plus agressive au fur et à mesure que la bière se réchauffe complètement à la fin, légèrement sucrée, moyennement amère, corps moyen, bonne carbonatation; en résumé : meilleure que ce que je m’attendais mais son aggressiveté âcre, lorsqu’elle se réchauffe, la pénalise

Foxy amber; good off-white creamy head. Gorgeous hoppy-grapey nose, dry, hay. Dry-bitterish with quite some sweetness underneath. Retronasal fully hoppy (USA hops). Medium bodied, certain slickness. Very good American amber ale. Not a hopmonster, but a fine well-hopped beer, with plenty to tell you. Thanks, TW.

2007-09-22, bottle at Stockholm Beer Festival, 7-4-7-3-13=34
Beautiful red-amber color. Too cold, but then some nice caramel and hop aroma, comes out, a bit fruity and resiny. The body is a bit harsh, almost dry, even if not strong enough, with some caramel flavor and a good hopping. Not bad, but also not convincing.

Amber color. Balanced Amber Ale, with a good caramel character, quite bitter, malty, roasted touch.

A hazy dark orange beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet hoppy combined with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty and well hoppy, combined with notes of caramel, leading to a dry hoppy and bitter end.
