Our original brewery in Toronto’s historic Distillery District, known as “Tankhouse #3” was built in 1879 as a storage building for bulk spirits waiting to be filled into barrels. It was in this building in 2003 that our Tankhouse Ale was born. Now made with all organic ingredients, we use an abundance of organic hops and five different organic malts to produce a rich, fiery pale ale, copper-red in colour, and truly satisfying in flavour.

A tasty and complex IPA packing a significant taste profile at a relatively low ABV level. A dark caramel-coloured body delivers a roasted malt and earthy hop beer that is both refreshing and challenging. Hops range from earthy to citrus. The malt is bready with toffee and a touch of spice. Well crafted

great hoppy aroma, lots of citrus, and apricot. Flavour is extremely well balanced between the citrus of the hops, and the very nice malty backbone. Superb session beer, very flavourful, i’m so happy i can get this on a regular basis.

Re rate: 2012.
I don’t do this often but i feel i have to re rate this beer cause my oroinal rting of 4.1 is not even close anymore. This beer has changed quite a bit over the years, and im assuming with the mass expantion of the brewery they have ut back on the quality of ingredients. This beer used to be loaded with hops, bright citrus and apricot aromas. Now its very vey earthy, solid malts, but zero hops. ZERO! This beer needs to be put in the amber category.

Absurdly overrated (by locals). It’s a malty amber with low hop character, often astringent (likely due to some bad taplines as well). But far from top in the world. Mill st yyz

Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Amber color. Earthy, oily citric hopaaroma. Earthy hopbitter flavor, citric with licorice. Blackcurrant. Longish aftertaste. Hint of metal in the finish. The balance could be better, but this is a tasty ale.

This pale poured a beautiful amber colour with a creamy, off white head. Minimal lacing. Scents include caramel, cereal and floral hops. First swig was smooth and creamy with flavours of hay, grass and honey. Finish is quite hoppy with the hop flavour lingering.

This ale pours a nice dark amber colour with a creamy tan head. I can get a little floral fruityness to the nose, maybe figs? First taste was very good with nice hoppy flavour with caramel and ??? Slightly bitter on the finish with the hops shining through on the palate on the end.

New Organic Mix 4-pack at LCBO. Pours a hazy amber-orange colour with a big creamy warm cap, long lasting with loads of foamy lace. Oh wow, this does smell organic with the different, stronger aromas. Caramel malts, some nuttiness and the hops are kind of spicy and sour (quite nice really). The taste is grassy in the finish, over the soft malts. A beautiful dry mouthfeel. This is all-around very nicely brewed.

This APA pours a clear amber colour with a huge off-white creamy head. Retention is very, very good and lacing is awesome. Good spicey and hoppy aroma with an interesting taste. Smokey, some caramel malt, spices and medium bitterness. Quite smooth overall and refreshing. A very nice unique pale ale.

Sampled from the tap at the Pearson location. Pours a clear deep copper with a near white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has sweet grains with some biscuit and toffee underlying. Flavor is much more biscuit forward with sweet grains backing.
