We Consider this an extreme version of an American Pale Ale. It has a very up front floral and citrus aroma from a late cascade addition and dry hopping with Amarillo. This beer also has a big malt background to balance the bitterness of the hops. The rye malt cleans up your palette after you swallow so the hop flavor does not stick in your mouth too long.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, best before the third week in May 2015, poured into snifter. Clear light orange with medium white head. Aroma is rye malt with, medium body, low carbonation, and some small-bubble lacing. Taste is citrus hops, floral hops, some rye, and solid caramel malt backbone. Good pale ale.

Bottle picked up at GBBF. Aroma is grainy, spicy rye bread, raw grains. slightly worty. Clear bright orange coloured pour with a sticky slightly greeny white head. Some piney, slightly wet grassy hops in the nose as well. Flavour is composed of grainy rye bread, spicy pine needles, grainy wheat. Some light caramel and brown sugars. Nice malt complexity. Palate is highish carbonation, semi-sweet. Touch of chalk on the tongue. Pretty drinkable, maybe a little too sweet.

Rcvd in trade. Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice somewhat light transparent to somewhat hazy pale brown color leading to light tinges of orange coloring along the sides of the glass. There was a decent light lacing sliding right on into the beer.
The smell had a faded sort of rye note to it along with a light floral yet somewhat spiciness.
The taste was a combination of the previously mentioned flavors.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body and had a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed fairly good for the style and for me as it was harsh but not overly done.
Overall, in my opinion, this was a good Rye Beer I’d have again.

Sample at SBWF 2013. Dark golden with a white head. Aroma and taste of malt, rye, hops and with a fairly bitter finish. Nothing wrong with this one but it was a bit weaker than expected.
