We Consider this an extreme version of an American Pale Ale. It has a very up front floral and citrus aroma from a late cascade addition and dry hopping with Amarillo. This beer also has a big malt background to balance the bitterness of the hops. The rye malt cleans up your palette after you swallow so the hop flavor does not stick in your mouth too long.

Relatively weak, but nice aroma of rich caramel, orange, and grapefruit rind. Hazy amber with floaties, medium white head. Weak grapefruit flavor. Watery mouthfeel. Explosive malt, lemon grass, and hay finish. It really pops. Immensely sessionable and a good beer for converting your AMC guzzling friends.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Greens Discount Beverage - Atlanta (Buford Hwy), 5/19/09

Aroma: Floral, rye, citrus, some earthiness and just a little spice
Appearance: A mostly clear orange color, with a this white head that dissipates quickly
Flavor: Similar to the nose, but the rye is more pronounced, a decent hoppy flavor here, and a nice balance from the rye malt
Palate: A little light, but lasts well, and drinks nicely.
Overall Impression: I liked this one, a nice well-balanced beer

Pours clear orange color with off white head. Floral hop aroma with some biscuit malts. Moderate hop flavor balanced nicely with the maltiness. Medium body with average carbonation.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with a small yellow-white head. The aroma was dryish, nutty and had a strong grapefruit presence. The flavor was bitter, sour and tart with strong grapefruit and a sweetish middle that leads to a long tangy grapefruit finish. No discernable rye. Fairly thick. Tasty.

TER RYE PALE ALE S6L3F2T4O7 Brown 12 oz bottle. Pop the lid and get a prominent milky grainy aroma. Weird near hop olfactory. Good creamy head pale yellow appearance. Comes across rather strong and on the alky side. Little carbonation. A little more bitter than APA. Probably should be in the specialty grains category. Medicinal grainy finish reminiscent of IPA hops but somehow not. Seems to be much stronger than the 5% listed here.

Bottle. Body is a very thin and transparent amber. Quite a bit of carbonation and a small sudsy head. Aromas are kind of weak... mostly a floral hops presence there, but a touch of citrus lurks quietly, too. Flavor is very nice and fairly bold. Just for a split second I thought I picked up the rye on the front edge of the first sip... it quickly got swallowed up in a wave of crisp hops. Pine and citrus hops are pleasant enough and the malt does a great job balancing things.

Bottled(355ml). -Dark golden coloured, small to medium airy white head, hoppy herbal nose. Very hoppy, light caramel and rye bread taste with fruity citrusy notes. Also pleasant bitterish hoppy finish. Decent and enjoyable APA.

Clear, light copper color. Malty, sweet, and with some hop in the aroma. Hops are more prominent in the flavor consisting of citrus and floral notes. The rye adds that little bit of bite but doesn’t do much besides that. Solid, but I wish the rye had a bigger role.
