Bottle 330ml @ yngwie - Nyttår 2023. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee and cocoa. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long chocolate and roasted finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

(Draught at Mother Kelly's, Bethnal Green, London, 17 Nov 2023) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with black bread, citrus, coffee and grapefruit. Malty, roasted, hoppy taste with notes of black bread, coffee, citrus, grapefruit, pine needles and a balanced citric/piney bitterness. Medium body, dry. Tasty and well balanced, smooth, with a rich hop profile. Very nice.

Mørk mahogni med lys brunt skum. Lukter kakao, mørk karamell og havre. Middels fylde. Maltig. Smaker havre, noe sitrusbitterhet og noe mørk sirup. Kort.

On tap at The Kernel, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out soft earthy hops and gentle roast in timid balance. Flavour is a hit too lifeless, with earthy hops, subdued hops, and an under-carbed palate. The flavours are decent, but just underwhelming, and the carb is also undershot. Decent but a rare miss — read: not excellent but still good — from The Kernel.

On tap at Taphouse CPH. Black with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, liquorice and citrus in that particular Dark malts and Columbus combination that always makes me happy. Dry, roasted flavour with all the right elements that send me back to Ølfabrikken Porter.

Keg at Arch 7 kernel tap. An opaque dark black brown coloured pour with a a lasting loose beige head. Aroma is semi sweet pine needles, Douglas fir. Mellow charred roast. Nice fresh pine and a hint of sweet brown bread. Flavour is composed of semi sweet rounded toasted roasted malts fresh pine tips, woody bark American c hop. Palate is semi sweet rounded, fine carbonation. Really nice. Cda.
Not sure what this is. There’s a touch of stouty maltiness, little bit sweet, but the hops are quite up front. Confusing one. Maybe not quite as full bodied as the stouts or porters.
