A traditional English Porter, auburn red in colour and finished with honey for a truly unique aroma and taste. Honey aromas on the nose, and flavours of honey, chocolate and with hints of vanilla making this a unique and pleasing ale.

Keg at The Jerusalem Tavern, Farringdon. Honey and plums in the aroma. Reasonable appearance. The honey is overwhelming in the taste and it all comes across as artificial in the taste. Shame it wasn't more toned down.

20/2/2021. Bottle shared at the third Ipswich Lockdown 3.0 virtual bottle share. Suffolk vs Norfolk. Bought at the brewery. Pours dark brown with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of honey, toffee, vanilla, chocolate, lockets sweets. Medium sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, watery texture, average carbonation. Label frequently refers to this beer as being unique, which is not wrong. But not unique in a good way for me though.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - dark brown and almost opaque. Beige head. Nose - more honey and vanilla than any traditional porter aromas. Taste - more honey with a little bit of chocolate biscuit coming through gradually. Honeycomb lurking too. Palate - medium bodied, a bit sweet through the middle. Some crunchiness on the finish, but would like more. Overall - a bit cloying and generally challenging.

4,5% on the label. Honeyaroma with just a bit of malt. Roasted malt at first in the flavor, immediately followed by a sweet honey flavor. The roastiness again dominates the aftertaste. I don’t like honey in beer, but it is not too offensive in this brew. Still, I prefer the ordinary porter.
