500ml bottle at 4.5% ABV. Wow! Raspberry red when held to the light, otherwise a dark reddish chestnut; beige head leaving good lacing; strong honey aroma, with perhaps a touch of vanilla; lots of honey flavour as well, with a oily, honeycomb waxiness; and an unusual dry smoky finish. You’d have to like honey to like this. I think it’s great.

Sehr eigener Geruch, mit Fantasie auch etwas Honig. Leicht herber und typischer Porter-artiger Antrunk, malzig, deutlich röstig, kräftiger werdend. Im hintergrund ist dann tatsächlich die erochene Note zu erkennen, die ich aber nur als Honig identifiziere, da ich weiß, dass das Porter damit gebraut ist. Etwas süß, durch die Röstigkeit wird das Bier dann aber doch eher in die bitterer Gegend geleitet. Mild röstiger Abgang. Ineteressantes, aber nicht unbedingt überragendes Porter. Bottle- Dark brown in colour, the aroma is predominantly of honey and it is rather appealing but also seems slightly too perfumed to be natural. The flavour is also of honey with some slight roasted notes. It is a shame because I think that the honey dominates this beer too much. Maybe they could do it with less or more natural honey and stop the aroma and taste of the honey from dominating quite so much as it detracts from what may have been quite a good porter!

Red brown beer with a small head. Taste and smell like artificial honey - like honey flavoured cheap candy.

Bottle at home ... Deep brown ... Lovely honey aroma with deep fruity malt... rich complex sweet malt with honey as well as dandylion and burdoch tones. hint of burnt toffee and treacle. oddly i aggree with Sim a odd hit of coconut. THis is probably the Best St Peters ive ever had, im not a big fan of there beers but this is hitting the spot.

Bottle: Reddish-amber coloured, small lacing foamy layer; first comes an aroma of honey, giving later way for cacao-powder and chocolate; demi-sec bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, soft MF; again honey, caco, milk and a bit of coffe in the mainly dry bitter finish. Yes, a pleasant porter, especially for apiarists.........

Bottled. Deep copper-colored beer with an aroma of only honey, then heather, sweetness and forgetmenot. Honey and some coffee-roasted notes in the flavor. Thin body and not my cup of tea. There is way too much honey in it. Rating: 5-3-5-2-10-2.5. (061124)
Bottle, courtesy of tarjei. It pours a quite pretty amber to brown body, topped by a decent, beige head. The aroma has a slight whiff of smoke up front, but is soon overpowered by honey and heather, which completely dominates the aroma. The sweet flavor has almost only honey and heather, and even though it’s sort of well-tasting, it gets too much. There’s some notes of coffee and chocolate in the finish. Medium body. Way to honeyish, but still there’s some qualities. A bottle you share. (081108)

Bottle, Majestic, Bicester, 23-12-06 in a St Peters mixed pack of four different dark beers.Pours a reddy brown colour with the most incredible honey aroma, far more honey than in any other honey style beer that I’ve ever encountered if there are any faults in this Dept’ I suppose it is that the aroma is just a tad overpowering, but I liked it. flavour once again is a full frontal honey assault, or is that that nose still tricking the tastebuds? Regardless I rather liked this beer despite the one dimensional aspect.

500ml bottle at Jerusalem Tavern, London. Ruby/black with bubbly tan head. Very honeyed aroma. Lots of honey flavour. Wow, reminds me with the honey of sweet meads like Lurgashall, but not with the sweetness. Not much in way of a porter, bit of charcoal, bit of choc maybe, but the honey dominates throughout. Nice, if you like honey. Bit unbalanced, but interesting.
