A traditional English Porter, auburn red in colour and finished with honey for a truly unique aroma and taste. Honey aromas on the nose, and flavours of honey, chocolate and with hints of vanilla making this a unique and pleasing ale.

Clear drak brown with mahogany hues, and a thin lacing off white head. Rather vinous flowery honey aroma, like clove honey from the jar. In mouth, a rather sweet porter with light chocolate, roasted coffee beans, woody notes and definite honey coming lourd and clear. A bit thinner but very nice. I quite liked this one. BB 19 april 2006. From a trade with JM in BC.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Reddisch-brown colour. Powerfull honey aroma. OK taste of chocolate, moderate bitter finish, average duration. A little watery. Not a good porter.

(Bottle 50 cl) Dark brown - rather than black - with a deliciously creamy, brownish head. Soft and smooth mouthfeel with a weak underlying sweetnes. I believe I can detect some honey traces here. Otherwise classical burned/smoky malty flavours. 170502

Bottled. Dark brown colour, big brown creamy head, lacing. Mintish honey aroma with some hints of smoke. Sweet honeyish smoky flavour. Smoky finish and aftertaste. Sweet honey and smoke all along the way.

Clear dark color, medium brown head. Aroma of honey and licorice, heavy roasted malts. Taste is sweet and sharp honey, roasted malts, some hint of meat. Finishes sweet and bitter, bit sticky.

A red brown beer with no head. The aroma is dominated by honey. The flavor dominated by honey but also contains notes of hops - which gives it a dry end. But the body is thin. For me this contains too much honey - or a too simple taste of honey.

Very dark brown, smallish coffee head and lace. Aroma is interesting strong honey mixed with hops. Taste is dark chocolate, roasted malts, some honey. Hops give bitter finish. Mixing porter with honey makes mixed feelings too, but basic of this porter is excellent.

Dark, brown color. Aroma more delicate than the Old-Style Porter: malt, roasted malt, liquorice, phenol, caramel. A strong roasted malt character, with caramel and liquorice, just softer than the Old-Style Porter, IMO the final is a bit bolder.

Very black porter with a small creamy head and a cough mixture like aroma. Bitter and creamy tasting flavour. Overall a very different type of porter than normal, the cough mixture aroma has a very negative effect on the overall impression of the beer.
