HotShot ESB is an easy-drinking and remarkably smooth Extra Special Bitter, brewed in the classic-English style. More assertively hopped than ordinary bitters, light copper-colored HotShot showcases clean hop flavors, balanced by its slightly fruity nose and light-caramel malt character.

While HotShot is one of Great Divide's easiest-drinking and lower alcohol beers, its complex flavor profile makes it the perfect session beer for craft beer lovers.

Unbelievably, this was better than their Tiatan IPA. Quite lively. When am I gonna learn, I don’t like the bitterness of some hops? I probably won’t try anything more than a 90% BV rating again. Not quite as good as Yards extra special. ...but this does have very vice champagne like carbonation..I got 4 pale ales in my great divide variety pack. I wish I could have seen what was in it before I bought. IF, (and that’s a big IF), I could have seen what was iin my variety pack, I would have picked something else. I hope I’m not raining on anyboby’s parade. Titan had the highest percent alky in the pack. It’s just I was expecting at least one dark beer.

(355 ml bottle at The Rover) Clear brown color with a tan head. Malty Wienna or Münchener scent. Some hops in the smell as well. Very nice fruity flowery hoppy taste with a good bitterness, the distinct Wienna/Münchener malty after taste.

355 ml bottle, at The Rover, Göteborg. Amber colour, large to moderate creamy head. Hoppy sweetish aroma, strong notes of blackcurrants / blackcurrant leaves. Flavour is sweetish and reasonably malty, some blackcurrant notes, but far too little bitterness for an ESB.

Bottled. Orange golden colour, huge foamy head. Lovely sweet caramel and honeyish hoppy aroma. Flavour is dry fruits, hops. That’s about it. Slightly light overall.

Bottled. Pale copper brown, big foamy head. Intensive flowery hoppy nose. Flowery hoppy (trefoil) flavor, very foamy mouthfeel. Quite grassy and flowery. Not really an ESB, more like "normal" bitter.

[Bottled at Old Eskil Ölkultur, Eskilstuna] Hazy dark amber, rich creamy head. Plenty of caramel, some grass. Medium bodied with clean - too clean - mouthfeel and low-medium bitterness. With it’s laid back hop character it relies heavily on malt character, but hard crystal malt does not provide what I’m looking for in terms of depth.

bottle - Nice aroma of light malts and moderately assertive hops. This is an easy drinking beer with a very tastey hops kick. It’s medium bodied with a dry finish. I enjoyed it and would have no problem enjoying several in an evening.

Bottled. Copper-colored, light hazy beer with a beige head. Aroma has fruity hops, caramel and roasted malt. The flavor adds some candisugar-like notes to it. Full, sweet, light sticky body and a sweet and american-hopped finish. (060518)
