【味わいの特徴】クリーンでクリスプな飲み口とベリーやブドウのようなホップ香、ベルギー酵母の深い味わいとをあわせ持ったベルジャンIPAです。【相性の良い食事】鮎と万願寺唐辛子の炭火焼、揚げ鶏と空心菜のオイスターソース炒め、パセリとミントのクスクスサラダ【名前の由来】今では大勢のメンバーを抱えることとなった毬一族のなかでも、ひときわ落ち着いた自分らしい生活を送る毬佳。あまり飾ることは好まず、凛とした透明感とはきはきとキレのよい快活な性格で、誰をも魅了する存在。【醸造家の声】毬一族シリーズの新作「毬佳」は、果実味のあるニュージーランド産ホップを使用し、スパークリングワイン（Brut）に着想を得たベルジャンIPA。
６％の度数を維持しながら、Brutのような淡い色味とドライで軽やかなボディを作り出すために、副原料としてお米（米粉フレーク）を使いました。キリっとした飲み口と、一期一会をやや穏やかにしたような口当たりが共存し、一種伝統的なセゾンを口に含んだ時のような爽快な満足感を感じることができます。
そして、もう一つの特筆すべき要素は、ニュージーランド産ホップで、4種類をブレンドすることにより、熟した果実や花、柑橘の皮のような味わいや香りが層をなし、心地よい波のように飲む人の元を訪れます。
低～中温で発酵させることにより、これらホップの個性のうち、果実のようなフルーティーさやスパイス香が花開き、一層このビールを特徴づけています。

A Belgian IPA done in the Brut-style - characterful New Zealands hops are added to a bone-dry and spritzy beer; the idea being to emulate champagnes’ refreshing mouthfeel.

The latest addition to the Mari Family of Belgian IPAs is a Brut inspired version with New Zealand hops.
True to the style, we used rice for a portion of the recipe to lighten the color and body while keeping the ABV at 6%. The recipe was modified to ensure a dry finish, and despite the mouthfeel the finishing gravity is actually a bit lower than Ichigo Ichie and closer to more traditional Saison beers.
The real star of the show here though are hops from New Zealand. Blending four varieties creates a layered flavor and aroma of ripe fruit, white flowers, and citrus zest. Using a mid/low fermentation temperature creates a nice balance of ripe fruit and phenolic spices to compliment the hops.

On tap at Mikkeller Kanda, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out a nice combo of Belgian yeast and piney hops in good balance. Flavour is remarkably well-balanced and constructed, with a wonderfully delicate amount of piney hops, Belgian yeast expression giving off subtle flora and estery notes, and a soft sweetness. Really nicely constructed for a beer style that is all too easy to get wrong. Excellent.

Tap at KBC. Slightly hazy shining golden orange. Fruity: tropical, stone fruit, citrus, light dry malt. Spicy Belgian yeast. Dry, bitter, rich fruit flavor. Well done. Don't usually dig Bruts.

KBC Marika Brut Belgian ipa 6% Pale straw gold with a dense off white head of foam and peppery spicy almost wheat like aroma. Medium bodied and exceptionally dry. Probably one of the better examples of this style I’ve had. ——2024 version——— Gotta love the designs of these Mari series beers… looks like this has a new recipe: KBC Marika Belgian IPA 6% Looks like a honey gold hazy ipa with an eggshell white foam. The aroma is somewhat juicy with a funky toejam and woodsy white pepper. The taste is similar on a medium to light bodied with a slightly raspy carbonation. Solid stuff. Should it have a new entry? I’d say it went 3.8—> 3.9
