North Brewing Herzog Kolsch 5% Matte straw gold with a thick white head of foam that leaves a generous heap of Belgian lace. The aroma is sweet fresh grains with a herbal hoppiness. The medium bodied brew starts off with sweet light malts then herbal hop character with hints of lemon. Pretty good.

As you may expect this is decent without being spectacular. I'm not big on Kolsch's which is obviously more on me than the beer but I will say it's pretty solid for the blazing heat I'm currently enduring. Decent blend of hop and malt and a little caramel. A hint of zestiness to freshen it up. It's fine.

One-third pint, keg at North Brewing Co Tap. Next to clear golden body, filmy layer, lacing rings down the glass. Bread-like malts on the nose, hints of herbal hops. Mid-sweet grainy flavour joined by a discreet citric touch. Rounded mid-dry ending. Easy drinking, summer feel. (Leeds 02.07.2019).
