Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with large dirty white color head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of bitter hops with notes of caramel malt. Taste is also dominated by some bitter hops with some citrus notes but lacking some grapefruit which I hold very dear to the style. Malt body is quite substantial with some great dry caramel malt notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well done but definitely not as good as the hype surrounding this one.

Dark cloudy orange with medium white head. Slight malt aroma. Ever changing hop and malt throughout, well balanced a complex. Very nice one.

500 ml bottle. Hazy ripe orange amber color with a decent off-white head. Floral and fruity aromas. Medium plus body with biting, creamy carbonation. Flavors of roasted caramel, floral hop and strange fruits. Finish is dry, astringent, rather bitter. Super brew.

On tap @ EBF. Dark reddish golden with a big, dense off-white head. Aroma is citrus hoppy. Flavor is sweet malt, sharp bitter, a bit fruity, spicy and actually a bit too sweet for my taste. Finnish is long and bitter.

Bottle. Pours with a clearish light, copper body, and a rocky, light brown head. Tons of caramel and toffee, lots of malts, some alcohol, light floral hops. Smells a bit like an American barely wine. Taste is hoppy, with caramel a decent amount of alcohol in the form of brandy, oxidation and more alcohol. Fizzyish, and a bit dry, which is not what I am looking for in a 9.6% IIPA sipper.

On tap at EBF 08. Having heard so much about this beer I was really interested in trying it. Clear amber with thin beige head. Too much tea. Lots of hot hop and alcohol, some apricot fruit, lots of hop on end. But too mcuh tee flavour for me.

Mild hopfiger Geruch, wenig süß, weitestgehend alleinstehend. Test vom 29.9.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,11,11,12,10,11 - 11,00

bottle at Ft Wayne locals tasting - Pours hazy copper with a lasting head that laces well. It smells very hoppy. The citrus accented hops flavor is strong without being overpowering as this beer also has good malt balance.

aroma grassy and dark fruit. 7 looks : unclear brown, thick light brown head. 4 flavor well balanced bitter, quite some hops, almost acid flavors from the hops. some caramel, some sweet note, but the hops win out. aftertaste lingers for a long time, bitter. alc is very well hidden, you feel it when you warm up. 7 palate 4 overall 16
