0.5L bottle pours a perfect clear copper with tall light tan head. The aroma is fairly strong with pine hops mixed with roasted crystal malts and caramelization. The taste begins with a thick and chewy fluid ushering in a big bite of pine and grassy hop bitterness. A wagon load of roasted malts quickly mix in with the hops as well as a bit of caramel candy and later notes of toffee. The blistering pine and grassy hop bitterness just doesn’t let go of the taste experience. This seems similar to Stone’s ABA only bigger, bolder and brasher. YUM!!

Hand bottled Dec 19th 2006 (thanks Papsoe!). Amber colour with small beige head. Aroma is big time flowery hops with some salted licorace, caramel . freshly cut wood and spices. Flavour is wooden (coniferous woods), grassy, fruity hoppy and some salted licorace lurking in the background. Extremely wellbalanced brew, and one of the best IIPAs I have had. Doesn’t show almost any alcohol at all.

Draugt, Randallized version at Københavnske øldage 07. Copper colour with a beige head. Aroma is fruit, hop, malt, citrus. Flavour is fruit, hop, pine, malt, citrus. Bitter finish. Nice bitter beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear, copper color. The head is small and beige. Heavy, malty aromas with beef-stock and sugar, well balanced with lots of hoppy aromas makes this a really enjoyable beer. Pine, orange, notes of tropical fruits, and there’s something earthy there as well. Flavorwise it goes the same path, with a nice blend of heavy maltyness and intense hoppyness. Really long, hoppy finish with a quite sugary feeling. This full-bodied beer is not the kind you down by numbers, I guess the cigar lover would enjoy this one, and it’s wonderful on it’s own as well. I can’t decide if I think it’s too sweet, but I think I’m content. At least it’s rather balanced. Rating: 8-3-8-4-17-4 (080209)

Draught, Randallized version at Københavnske Øldage. Had some roasted Brie to go with it. A clear, copper beer with a small beige head. Hops, pine, beef-stock, malt, sugar-notes and citrus in the aroma and flavor, but more evident sweetness in the flavor. Full body. Long, hoppy finish with pinecones and resin. A lovely beer. I had it un-Randallized as well, but I liked the Randallized version better, it is more balanced and silkier in the mouth. (070512)

HandBottle (12/19/06) from Papsoe; Nose of piney and citrusy hops, copper with a medium beige head; Flavor of hop bitterness which lasts to the finish. Pretty decent but it does not really compare to the Moylans Hopsickle & Moylander which are my favorite IIPAs.

Draught @ Københavnske Øldage 2007 in Copenhagen. Clear medium amber color with a small fizzy fair lacing off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel,heavy hoppy, alcohol, spices. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texure is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.

Finally! Tap at CPH ølfestival. Amber with thick white lasting head. Soft creamy mouthfeel/body. Agressive hops. Perfume/flowers. Lasting bitter end! Very nice!

Tap, Olfestival. I drank 2 versions actually. First one, the regular one: Clear orange color, short head. Aroma of US hops, caramel malt, toffee, some grass. Strong bitter taste, bit barley wine like almost. Gets even better while drinking. 2nd version: during tapping, the beer is passed through a filter with fresh hop: delicious hop aroma, some grapefruit. It’s quite the same as the regular version, but the hop aroma is fresh and even better.
