Yeeow! Especially for the holidays, a brown ale with real attitude! The malts used to make Warm Welcome are roasted to give a hearty amber-brown colour and a warm, rounded nutty taste. This fine ale is dedicated to all you curious brew-lovers out there who ever had serious questions about the mechanics of Santa's supposed arrival by way of the chimney.

Shared bottle at local tasting, from Voldby Købmandsgaard. Amber to reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Sweetish aroma, toffee and caramel. Toffee and nuts in the flavour, fairly dry, more distinct hops than expected.

500ml Bottle: BBD 28 Aug 14, poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 16 Dec 13. Imported by the Shilton Brothers, which was a shock as I live in Shropshire! I wonder where this bottles has been before it arrived at my house? Nice clear amber body with a full, deep head which died but gave some heavy lacing as it did so. Malty, woody and nutty in both the nose and the taste, caramel notes came through the maltiness as it warms. Good bite in the finish, this is a well balanced, easy to drink beer.

Clear Copper Color, Medium Head Did Not Last, Spotty Lacing. Stale Malt Aroma. Taste about the same, Stale Malt, Lightly Roasted, Lightly Sweet and Bitter. Reminds Me of Samuel Smith Version. Drinkable, Nothing Special, Therefore Not Memorable OK. Pass It...

Bottle from Terre de Boisson, Calais. Clear mid brown beer with lasting beige head. Mid malty aroma. It’s like a normal brown bitter but it’s 6% but it doesn’t taste it. Weird. I mean it has all the hallmarks of a basic brown bitter, some yeast, some malt, some sting on finish. A little bit of alcohol is apparent on the finish. Very light everywhere else. I mean it tastes like a 3.6% abv bitter. It would be nicer if the flavour matched the alcohol. Weird. Ok, but doesn’t quite fit together.
