Yeeow! Especially for the holidays, a brown ale with real attitude! The malts used to make Warm Welcome are roasted to give a hearty amber-brown colour and a warm, rounded nutty taste. This fine ale is dedicated to all you curious brew-lovers out there who ever had serious questions about the mechanics of Santa's supposed arrival by way of the chimney.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Paler in colour than expected - caramel brown, with a small off-white head; caramel malt aroma; soft in the mouth with a flavour of demarara sugar and carmael - reminding me of Newcastle Brown; but with much more alcohol present at the end to give a rich, warming finish. Good stuff.

Golden-amber. A lightly toasty-caramelly nose. Toasty, nutty, fairly bland beer. A generic English ale sure to leave the masses disinterested.

Bottle at John Bull. A clear, amber to brown beer, clear bee rwith a minimal off-white head. Boring aroma, caramel and some bitterness. Caramel, fruits and a roasted touch in the flavor. Bitter finish. English winter beer, nothing special. 101204

Clear dark amber with a white head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, dried fruit, nuts and malty. Flavor is quite sweet and only light bitter. To me this is a real winter warmer. 280111

Half liter pours deep clear copper with tan head. The aroma is a bit metallic then pretty earthy and then sweet with sugary malts and a touch of nuttiness. The first impression of the taste is that it is overly sweet with sugar sweet malts, sugary nut butter covered prunes and then a bit roasty with malts and sort of metallic too. It ends with building dark fruity esters and some booziness. This wants to come together for me but never really gets there.

500 mL bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear reddish amber color with a thin tan colored head. Decent head retention and lacing. The aroma is rather weak with notes of toasted malts, apple and banana. The taste is caramel, toasted malts, a nutty note, that banana thing again, and faint leafy hops. Thin-medium bodied. Meh.

Toasted malt Christmas beer! Rich golden brown beer with a creamy feel. It is, as intended, quite nutty. Despite the moderate abv found it quite heady.
