--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Very dark brown, small head. Intense calvados aroma. Mildly sweet with medium to full body and rounded mouthfeel. Calvados, pine, licorice and coffee. Long bitter finish.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is chocolate, some mild sweet malts, alcohol and mild liquorice tones. Flavour is alcohol, some chocolate, mild toffee and sweet malts. A bunch of dark fruits and berries in the aftertaste.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average, thick, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, dark beige to tan head. Rather weak, roasty, spicy, minimally chocolately, dark malty and woody aroma, notes of liquorice, hints of calvados. Taste is initially bitter, roasty, spicy, dark malty, woody and slightly fruity, later additionally sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty and slightly citrusy fruity hoppy, notes of liquorice and calvados, later some treacle, orange, mandarine, chocolate, a minimally alcoholic touch; needs some time to evolve and reach its peak. Slightly oily, watery texture, smooth and minimally cloying, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium, dense, foamy to creamy carbonation. Rather weak aroma, more meaty taste, though not overly hoppy and a tad too sweet; closer to relatively hoppy Impy Stout than real Black IPA - decent.

ABV: 10.0%. Clear dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted - roasted, dark malt, moderate hoppy, woody hops, barrel, calvados. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, toasted - roasted, dark malt, wody hops, calvados, barrel. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20230318]
