Vlierbloesem, rood fruitig, fris en erg jong, maar aardig
Wild festival. Hazy red with no head. Sour grain, grapes, wood, red berries. Over medium sour. Medium body and soft carbonation.

Plenty of elderberry in the flavour, but it's definitely a lambic first and a fruit beer second. Very dry, no juice to speak of. Pretty sour, some funk, plenty of wood. Tart, puckering, refreshing and flavourful. Fun beer.

Keg at the Beavertown Extravaganza, day one, 08/09/17. An attractive deep purple cherry coloured pour with a halo of purple head. Aroma is big dirty mangey horse, dung, berry, cherry, brett, plastic. Flavour is composed of dry woody berries, elderberry, plum, low cherry, dirty funk, decent acidic zip. Palate is dry and woody, highish carboantion, dry finish. Very Nice indeed.

The elderberry version in this series of ‘experimental’ fruit Tilquins, at Tilquin Fruit Extravaganza #1 in Moeder Lambic – the very last available glass apparently, so I guess I had a lucky day… Moussy but loose and coarse, beautifully fuchsia-hued, thick head over a very intensely deep and dark purplish ruby red beer. Aroma brimming with elderberry juice, with some of the vague spiciness I tend to associate with it, sour cherry and gooseberry characteristics as well even though those are not used, red wine vinegar, green wine leaves, yoghurt, beetroot, some sweaty funkiness. Sour, crisp onset, lemony acidity but with a very light sweetish core to it (sugars from the elderberries), softish carbo, slick wheaty body dried bu the fruit and lactic acidity ; tannic berry skin notes in the finish but in a mellowish way (at least in comparison with e.g. the two blueberry versions in this series), aromatic elderberry aspects retronasally. Apparently not the most popular one at the tasting, but I personally found this one of the best; to date, only the Groseille is known to make into a bottled version, but hopefully Pierre Tilquin has the same intentions with this one.
