The Meerts Tilquin series was made by fermenting fruit that had already been used once. Pinot Gris grapes were fermented for a period of 4 months in a blend of 80% 1 year old Meerts and 20% of a blend of different 2 year old lambics. Meerts (or March Beer) is a low strength lambic, which was originally produced with the weaker wort obtained from the rinsing of the grains. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, they are refermented in the bottle.

hapu ja nisune, funky puuviljane, õrnalt viinamarjane, kerge. Hea, joogikaks on see meerts seeria ikka mõnus, libiseb hästi.

Taster from 0,375l bottle at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Yellow almost hazy color, small white head. Smells oak, grassy, earthy, peppery, herbal, cellar notes. Very nice smell. Full body, soft carbonation. Tastes citric, grassy, oak, subtle tannins, nutty, vinous. Finishes lightly dry light to medium sour with notes of grass, vinous and oak notes. Very nice one, great complexity, but also great balance

Bottle. Clear golden with fizzy short lasting head, looks like cider. Up front some funk, sweet malts, wheat, a bit of vanilla, light grapes, woody. Even less fruit than in some other versions, but it’s a great beer.
