Tap. Crow Inn Sheffield. Turn that fucking horrible music down ffs. Soft haze on a pale yellow gold. No head. Peach stone and flesh. Leathery funk. Clean and sharp. Low acidity. Nice,

Drucken på fat på Bishop Gustaf Malmö. Sötare och fruktigare doft. Saftig, lite fruktköttig persika med av drag av persikogodis som harmonierar perfekt med lambicen. Mycket gott

Draught Cloudy orange beer with disparate transparant head. Putteke , sulphur and then peach pie. Caramelized crust, and indeed peach juice, Tarte Tatin from peaches. Again very sour, tart. Yoghourt with peach. Almost no aftertaste, main flavour disappears fast. Acidthinning and -burn, dry-out effect, not very carbonated. Drie-op-een-rij I find the Tilquin Draft series to be on the harsh side, to put it... mildly.

23/X/21 - on tap @ Tilquin Fruit Extravaganza, Brugs Beertje (Brugge), BB: n/a (2021-1188)

Clear bright yellow beer, small creamy white bit irregular head, stable, non adhesive. Aroma: nice, lots of brett notes, somewhat woody impression, very funky, very spicy, a little dirty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: spicy, bit watery, gentle acidity, some sour unripe peaches, thin, a little herbal. Aftertaste: more acidic, dry, some tannins, little acidic, bit lemony, sulphur touch, pretty sharp, decent!

Peach lambic – the first by Tilquin – in a whole series of new experimental fruit lambics. Snow white, loose, open, bubbly head on a hazy yellow-tinged straw-golden beer. Aroma of sweet ripe (yellow) peach and strongly so, sour apples, straw, grape skins, dry white wine, unripe gooseberries, drying lime peel. Sweet peach returns in the onset but of course embedded in lemony and lactic lambic sourness, softly carbonated (the sugars from the fruit have likely prompted mild additional fermentation), slick wheaty base; strong peach kernel and peach skin tannins in the end, along with growing sourness, to a puckering, very drying effect, yet kept supple by the sheer juiciness of the peach flesh. Lovely ripe peach effect here, comparable with the peach lambic 3 Fonteinen has produced this year, one can wonder why ‘oude’ pêche hasn’t been more a thing traditionally speaking. This to me was one of the best of the new Tilquin fruit lambics and I suspect a very likely candidate to make it into bottled form next year.
