From a 345ml bottle on 16/8/2010. Has a medium roasty, fruity, coffee aroma. Not particularly sweet, this one is dominted by burnt/roasted malt and a little toffee and caramel. A decent porter (Squire’s is nearly always solid) but nothing special.

Pours dark copper with a quickly fading head.Nose shows lots of roasted barley, with sweet hints of chocolate and oats. Simple, but very nice.Similar flavours, with roasted barley growing strong into a long-lasting finish.Carbonation is a bit excessive, and the body is a bit watery.

Bottle. Pours darkish with a light brown head that hangs around. Milky chocolate and hints of coffee aromas.Tastes of roasted malt, wheat and chocolate. The nice subtle hops don’t quite make up for over-carbonation and being a touch light in alcohol to support the flavours. Perhaps I’ll try the next one colder.

Bottle. Poured clear dark brown with reddish tint. No head. Very little aroma - mainly dark / roasted malt with a hint of something interesting - maybe smoky. Medium body with quite a lot of carbonation, especially for the style. The flavour is very much dominated by dark roast malt. There is some interesting short-lived fruitiness in the start and some bitterness in the finish. Overall, its drinkable. I have to admit porter is not a favourite style. Then again, this strikes me as not particualrly faithfull to that style.

Bottled. Red ruby, small tan head. Woody and lightly roasted malty aroma. A bit metallic in the start. Then light toasted malts, hints of cold coffee, crisp. Notes of chocolate in the aftertaste. Not really porter-like, but good balanced drink anyway.
