Bottle at London Gathering Nov 2005. Black beer, with thin beige head. Nice, slightly sour porter aroma with good liquorice. Bit thin. Bit over carbonated. Niceish choc flavour though

Clear dark color, short brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, some licorice. Soft taste of roasted malts, some wheat, chocolate and coffee. Good balance. One of the best Ozzie beers i’ve had so far.

Bottled. Near black with majestic, firm creamy head that lasts forever. Licorice aroma. Short, sharp and very dry salty coffee flavour. More salt in a finish with medium bitterness.

Chestnut; aroma like glosette raisins, sugar, plums; chewy, sweet, vinous palate, sticky finish. Different - an old-style porter, lacking roast and hops.
