10/2022 Bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a pitch black with a finger of beige foam that lingers. Bourbon focused nose with oak, dark chocolate, orange cream and vanilla aromas all present. More orange, vanilla and dark chocolate on the palate with warming bourbon on the finish. Really nice!

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with a tan cap. Orange zest, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, Terry's chocolate orange. Medium body. Interesting.

Tip Tap draught, 11/26/22. Ebony-dark mahogany, not very viscous, small, tan head immediately fizzles. Nose is full of black licorice and moderate orange zest. Not really rich malt so much as vanilla bourbon cocktails. But not unbalanced in any way, really. No booze. Clean, lighter than expected, with more cocktail than stout impressions. Orange, bitters, licorice and very light vanilla. Love how dry Grimm's beers are, and it's what draws me to them, but here it's a detriment. This is way too dry, despite its reasonably malty texture. Orange is pretty dominant and overdone, which is weird for Grimm, too.

Draught at Gold Star Beer Counter, no head, pitch black colour, aroma of orange liquor and chocolate, same traits in flavor with a noticable bourbon presence and the chocolate stronger, quite sweet but still with some balance, resemble a Cointreau liquor. Pretty nice.
