A native Herefordshire pear, identified by the legendary Herbert Durham during the 1920s. In 2022, we saw one of the sunniest and hottest summers of recent memory and that has boosted the natural sugar in the pear, giving us around 1% extra alcohol than normal! The flavour is lightly acidic and gentle, with green herbal notes. And thanks to the growing conditions, this vintage has a more citrussy quality than earlier years, with a distinct lemon and lime fruity flavour. Eminently quaffable.

500ml bottle from Cat in the Glass. Yellowy gold colour, no head and aroma of perry pear, floral, oily funk. Taste is sweetish, perry pear, fleshy, floral, wood, funk, custard, lemon-lime citric hints, with some light acidity and tannin. Medium bodied, light carbonation, medium citric peary tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
