Not very dark, but amber colored. Swee, with a faint smokiness. Low on carbon. Sugary, with hints of coffee. Caramelly. Good beer!

Test vom 4.9.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,11,10,10,12,11 - 10,95

Bottle, 5.4%. OK grainy aroma, unmalted barley or something. Clear brown colour. Very small off-white head. The flavour is a little sweet at first, nicely malty. Some smoke in the finish. Tastes good, but unexpected.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Clear, deep amber coloured with a fluffy off-white head; the aroma is a mix of roasted malt, smoked malt with illusions of metal and alcohol; moderate sweet-bitter flavour and light to medium-bodied; delicate dry and smoky notes in the malty-bitter finish. A pleasant, almost smoked beer........

(swing top bottle) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with a medium-sized, non-persistent yellowish frothy head. Sweet, slightly ashy, toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel and shy hops. Sweet, slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Dark malty, moderately roasty taste with caramel and distinctive hints of smoke. Almost dry, slightly bitter finish with a smoke-malty aftertaste. Pleasant and mildly smoked Dunkel.
