In February 2011 we brewed our first Weizenbier, or German style wheat beer, with our friend Markus Lotz from the Braurei Niddaer Marktbräu near Frankfurt. Using the traditional four step mash technique we have produced a Kristallweissbier, or crystal clear wheat beer, with the characteristic flavours of cloves and banana.

If you haven't tried a German wheat beer yet, perhaps it's time to Weizen Up!

440ml can from Indiebeer. Hazy yellow gold colour, bubbly white foam head and aroma of wheat, banana, yeasty. Taste is grainy, wheaty, milky, yeasty with fruity banana notes and some tangy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying wheaty bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
