オーストラリア・メルボルンのブルワリー Hop Nation Brewing（ホップネーションブリューイング）とのコラボにより実現したチョコレートコーヒーミルクスタウト。
コーヒー豆は奈良のスペシャルティコーヒーロースタリー・ANY B&B + COFFEE（エニー ビー＆ビー＋コーヒー）が焙煎した豆を使用。コーヒーのほろ苦い香ばしさと、漬け込んだバニラや乳糖の甘味がブレンドされた一杯。350ml缶は窒素ガス充填を行ったナイトロ缶仕様。クリーミーな泡ともに楽しんでいただけます。グラスを傾けると、アーモンドナッツをローストしたような香ばしさと、ほろ苦いビターチョコレート感をベースに、赤りんごや爽やかな柑橘の果実感も感じられるしっかりとした深煎りコーヒーの香りが感じられます。奥に感じられる甘みは、バニラを漬け込んだことに加えて、ナッツやアーモンドの香りが特徴的なブラウンモルトと呼ばれる麦芽を使用したことによるもの。
口に含むと、オーツ麦由来の滑らかなマウスフィールと、コーヒー由来のキャラメルのようなフレーバーが感じられ、乳糖（ラクトース）の甘みがそれを優しく包んで、喉を滑り落ちた後の余韻は艶やかとも形容できるもの。ゆっくりと液温上げながら飲んでいただくと、より香りと甘みを感じていただけます。ベースとなったコーヒーの提案は、世界中の季節のコーヒーを提供するメルボルンを代表するロースター・SEVEN SEEDS。味わいが単調にならないようにということで、ブラジル、コロンビア、ペルー産のコーヒー豆をブレンドしたものを今回深煎りにして使用しています。

I’m pretty sure this was part of an Aussie collaboration event: Nara x Hop Nation Yūgen 5.5% Chocolate coffee milk stout 9 IBU Post sento beer! Deep black with a creamy tan head of foam. Lush full velvety body. The nitro shines on this. The aroma is soft chocolate stout at first but then the coffee comes to the fore as it warms up. The taste is a bitter herbal coffee then sweet roasty stout. Seriously wonderful soft body. I’m glad I got to try this.

On tap at Craft Beer Bar iBrew Ebisu, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of sweetened coffee and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is nicely balanced, with coffee upfront, accentuated by cocoa and lactose in good fashion. Not exactly complex but the flavours are harmonious and well-balanced. Good stuff.
