Almost two years ago, we were able to procure some of the rarest Cognac barrels from France. These casks held Cognac from the Hennessy distillery for TWENTY SEVEN YEARS and went on to become their XXO Hors d'Age special release. We filled them with one of our high gravity Imperial Stouts designed for extended aging and let it rest until they were ready. After tasting heavy notes of chocolate and oak with undertones of dark fruit and smoke, we knew this had the intensity and complexity to be one of our anniversary beers.
