After battling through hard crumbly wax and then cleaning up the floor (stick yer wax where the sun don't shine brewers) this pours a near clear deep brown beer, small bubbly tan head, doesn't last. Smooth dark malts, light bodied, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Slightly tangy dark chocolate. Abundant and rich Marsala, honeyish ripe winey orange fruits. I've not a Danny La Rue what the Liqueur D'Expedition is supposed to bring, it's not a drink in its own right as far as I can see but, rather something used in the fermentation process. All I would say, is this Marsala barrelling is unusually bright and clear, so maybe the Liqueur thingmebob has something to do with that. Finishes smooth and chocolatey with estery sweet wine. Interesting and drinkable. Very Marsala.

Sample, thanks oh6gdx! Black, small beige head. calvados and port wine meets erathy licorice in the nose. Mid sweet with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Dates and port, earthy licorice and dark bread. Mildly warming mid bitter finish. Complex and well integrated. Impressive!

330ml bottle, drank on Baltic Porter Day 2025 and coincidentally my final rating on Ratebeer.
Pours almost black with a small tan head. Aroma of Marsala wine barrel, oak, raisins, cherries. Taste features the Marsala wine prominently, oaky barrel, quite sweet, lots of dark/dried fruit character - raisins, cherries, caramel, liquorice, dark malts and a little roast, warming finish. Medium bodied, very smooth. Good stuff, Marsala is quite powerful!
