Pours clear, deep gold into a tulip. White micro head with medium retention recedes to mottle surface. Pine and resin aromas. Thick with sweet caramel, summer pit fruit and treacle upfront turning to pine and pith in the lasting finish.

12 oz. can, 9.2% ABV, Packaged on: 09/11/23
AROMA: I'm first hit with strong scents of grapefruit, pine, and juniper. I then get hints of malt and blood orange.
APPEARANCE: Pours a clear gold with a very tall, very white head that dissipates extremely slowly with excellent lacing.
TASTE: Sweet with flavors of grapefruit and pine, . The finish is a bit sour with a touch of bitterness at the very end. Overall, a nicely balanced flavor profile.
MOUTHFEEL: Medium-bodied with a smooth, juicy texture and above-average carbonation.
OVERALL: The beer is much sweeter than the aroma would suggest, but not overly so. It's a nice looking beer with an easy-going flavor that doesn't push too hard in any direction (i.e. it has a nice balance of sweet, sour, and bitter). I have a feeling this beer was designed to appeal to as many people as possible, and I would say they've done a good job of it. The only drawback is that the beer goes down so easy that you have to pace yourself or that high ABV will get you before you realize it.

Canned 6/15/23, drunk 10/12/23. This one was from the cooler at least but boy is it about as unexciting as it gets. Somewhat dull hops. Sweetish, plain, white bread malts. Moderate bitterness. Nothing wrong with it, I guess, other than being too sweet. --- Beer merged from original tick of Atomic Torpedo on 28 Aug 2022 at 13:54 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 3 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 3. Original review text: Canary Square draught, 8/27/22. Lightly hazy, copper-brass with a small, white head showing moderate-to-low retention. Some light juiciness with some heavier, pervasive sweatiness and pine. Yeasty stink and a preponderance of what almost smells like oxidation. I guess its just specialty malt. Light alcohol on the end. If there's some degree of interesting juice/fruit in the aroma, it doesn't translate to the flavor, where it's just pine, sweat, almost dirty yeastiness and iced tea and caramel from the malt. Lingering bland bitterness. Decently malty texture is about the only thing nice I can say here.

Good lort. I mean, this is a decent enough beer, so my little bitchfest I'm about to write probably seems out of place. But got damn SN, at what point did you guys sit back think you know what our line up and beer scene really needs right now? yep, a really big extra strong IIPA but boss we already have one, Torpedo I know but make it even bigger! *group whispers amongst themselves* what year is it? So yea, super high ABV, huge hops, thats so...2012. (hell it's so 2007) Bitching aside, its fine. Big resin and citrus hop nose and flavor. Plenty of grapefruit. Resinous grapefruit-rind flavors mix with big grainy and bready semi-sweet malts, booze is mild, does a good job hiding the ABV, and thus surprisingly drinkable. I drank 2 and thought oh shit that was too much

Poured from 19.2 fl oz stovepipe can (pkg 06/19/2023; 9.2% abv). Clear orange gold with full off white head. Sweet malty citrus, feint resin, with some mild booziness. A bit more old school, decent.

0.355 l can from 'Rudat', canned in May 2023. Almost clear, amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, quite fruity-resiny aroma of mango, grapefruit, orange jam and quite some pine. Rather sweet, gently bitter, quite resiny and rather fruity taste of pine, grapefruit, orange jam and mango, followed by a medium long, rather bitter finish. Full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice DIPA, feels rather classic with minor new school influences.

Monday 25th September 2023, Shrewsbury Gathering in Chez Sophie, 5 blokes and loads of beer. 19oz can from Simon, cheers mate. Clear golden pour, off-white head. Hops, resinous hops abound, it's a proper Torpedo! --- Beer merged from original tick of Atomic Torpedo on 01 Feb 2022 at 08:06 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Original review text: Tall 19.2oz can late on 31st January 2022 (finished on 1st February). Poured (twice) into an old Corsendonk stemmed tulip glass at my daughters in Laguna Hills. Lovely looking beer, clean and clear golden body, off-white blanket of foam on top. Resinous/piney nose on a solid malty base. As the beer warms a herbal/floral aroma comes through to compliment the piney start. Didn't pick up any fruitiness others appear to have done, just a piney bittering hoppiness that I really like. I am also enjoying the alcohol kick the beer has (it's a live tasting/review).

19oz can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Sep 23. Pours a clear amber with a frothy off-white head. Big piney resin aroma. Flavour profile is intensely piney sweet with a robust bitterness. Bringing back good memories of 2013-era craft.
