A special brew on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the brewery, first presented during the festival from August 21 to 25, 2003. It is brewed with the best ingredients and includes three times as many as a “simple” beer! This Tripel is “dry” with a fruity nose and, because of the Belgian hops, a long bittery aftertaste, which give this beer its full character. A heartwarming golden beer to enjoy quietly.

75 cL bottle as Bink Tripel. Pours cloudy to hazy orange with a huge white head. Aroma is mild cheesy and yeasty. Light caramel malty and yeasty flavoured, a bit oxidised. Light phenolic yeasty too. Ends mild spiced and phenolic in a mild yeasty mix and light caramelish.

(Re-rate, 2005 vintage 0.75 l bottle, at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2008-12-23, shared withJK54B, thanks) Golden and hazy. Medium sized white head that lasts for a moment. Fruity and yeasty nose. Medium bodied palatw with medium carbonation. Sweetness, malts, fruitiness, bitterness, apricots, some raisin, dried plum and hint of grapefruit in taste. Fruity and slightly bitter aftertaste. (Bottle at One Pint on 2008-02-21) Dark golden and cloudy. Fruity nose with some malts. Sweetness and hops in taste. Long lasting taste. Nice bitterness, too. 7-3-7-4-13 = 3.4

Bottled (as Bink Tripel). Dark yellowish golden colour with mediumsized with big white head that turns into a small one quite fast. Aroma is malty, white bready with also earthyness coming rather strong. Flavour is earthy, spicy, herbal, some mild fruityness, but not sweet at all. Not much sweetness at all in this one, yet it’s wellbalanced and has a bix complexity to it. Rather fullbodied too.

Bottled. Hazy orange, average head. Estery pineapple aroma with a wealth of alcohol. Sweet and lively, orange marmelade together with bittering herbs and pepper alcohol. Fresh and quite complex, in the finish estery alcohol comes through.

Burnished gold colour. Light head. Firm, sweet, balanced character. Malts take a bready, caramelly accent. There’s a slightly herbal hop note. Good, evenly-balanced if unspectacular example.

Bink Tripel. Pours bright gold into a tulip. Bright white micro head recedes at a moderate pace to skim rim with no lacing. Caramel aromas. Crisp and smooth with lasting bitter finish.

My Belgia-rating #600. Bottled 750ml, vintage 2005. Slightly hazy dark honey golden, decent head. Nose is not very strong - malty citrusy-fruity notes, light barnyard type aromas. Malty, attacking alcohol bitterness - not annoying but tolerable - fruity (mango), citrusy and a bit barnyardish. Bitter and citrusy aftertaste. Lacks depth, drinkable as such but you always expect more from 75cl Belgi bottle :)

Corked bottle
Hazy blond color. Typical Abbey Tripel; the aroma is dominated by the coriander; it has a light woody astringency, high bitterness and some warming alcohol.
