Straight up, old fashioned miscreants leading you astray into fields of chocolate, caramel, pine, coconut and vanilla. The barrel expression is the stand out hero, with the Imperial Stout playing a supporting role.

A thick, oozy and sexy Imperial Stout, loaded with 12 different malts, hopped with Simcoe and Columbus, was aged for 16 weeks in Makers Mark bourbon barrels. Once the coconut and vanilla extraction was on point, the beer was removed and split three ways. One straight up, one infused with coffee, cacao and vanilla and one infused with habaneros and peanuts. Temptation, seduction and deception, a complete entrapment.

There's no description beyond Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout on the can, but this was recommended to me at Carwyn in the same terms as here -- as being the plain version as though being sodden with pretend whisky was a given for a stout. Anyway. Can. Very dark brown with a tan head that settles to a fat coat that doesn't last. Aroma of whiskey, pine, mocha, vanilla. Hot, sweet, barely medium bodied. Caramel, vanilla, some coconut, oak. No stout to speak of - no chocolate, roast or coffee. Tidy bitterness really helps. Good job I didn't get the ones with random crap in them I guess.
